I started quilting about 20+ years ago. I let it lay by the wayside for years while I stayed busy in crocheting and crafting. </p><p>But, since I’ve found Temu and noticed they sale pre-cut squares, it has made me want to quilt again. They offer a wide variety of different square sizes. I absolutely love the 10” square size. </p><p>On this patchwork quilt, I’m rotating the rows between pink and blue. </p><p>How cute is this?</p><p>Happy Quilting!!!! </p>Rilla2uhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09938635600496424892noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3504982581949480486.post-85015706882670931952024-01-22T06:48:00.004-05:002024-01-22T06:48:56.441-05:00Repurpose Tissue Box<blockquote style="border: none; margin: 0 0 0 40px; padding: 0px;"><blockquote style="border: none; margin: 0 0 0 40px; padding: 0px;"><p style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-size: large;"><b><u>Repurpose Tissue Box</u></b></span></p></blockquote></blockquote><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjT9Jgj2yyvH0yshQB-iJ9dMAM6XrGdMqjtSujJM0B7mscR-C7VSqyWAr-IQVwS5Q0KXX_N-o4IAdGW013PoL-BwdBxWHMaQEG-tYKfJQgSevW7RZdzNhVeIVzylMT5My9QDgBIfcWjAU16SLjJO1Djfwnq4cT58oo1GPs0MSsJdayFcKnJ2_wakaO-VoJH/s4032/IMG_3456.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="4032" data-original-width="3024" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjT9Jgj2yyvH0yshQB-iJ9dMAM6XrGdMqjtSujJM0B7mscR-C7VSqyWAr-IQVwS5Q0KXX_N-o4IAdGW013PoL-BwdBxWHMaQEG-tYKfJQgSevW7RZdzNhVeIVzylMT5My9QDgBIfcWjAU16SLjJO1Djfwnq4cT58oo1GPs0MSsJdayFcKnJ2_wakaO-VoJH/s320/IMG_3456.jpeg" width="240" /></a></div><p>I decided to repurpose this tissue box into a storage container.</p><p>First, I used popsicle sticks glued completely around all 4 sides to add sturdiness. I used jumbo yarn and a toilet paper roll - cut 3 pieces all different sizes to make a small, medium and large. I used a wood stick from the yard and cut 3 pieces for my stems. </p><p>I used approximately 1 yard of jumbo yarn to make all three pumpkins. </p><p>I worked the yarn in and around each piece of toilet paper ring. I then just snuggled the end to the inside and added a wood stick for the stem on the top. </p><p>That’s it!!!! </p><p>Happy Crafting. </p>Rilla2uhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09938635600496424892noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3504982581949480486.post-20255158217568936352023-09-10T21:03:00.004-04:002023-09-10T21:04:30.905-04:00Pumpkin Outfit Set<p style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-size: large;"><u><b> Pumpkin Outfit Set</b></u></span></p><p style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-size: large;"><u></u></span></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; I’ve been working on Etsy orders. It seems my 100% cotton dryer balls are the right size and people seem to love using them. I’m so thankful and grateful for that, especially since my husband sustained a brain injury umpiring a baseball game after working all day and has since been unable to work or umpire for the past year. </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj65Zu-RX2LSjGdZBPLGctTbTMgzShh6doI81N7wNYIRSD6X-OABYJBrC2x14Yiui99S3naeUSMT-YL0G5z9wokNS5xeX4zhv8vEq8YhIjyB97xgqz-x69Lwm5d6wfL0dHLGksEYOKAcek1t3G_8YCZhg1zdsrq84lTZSAar6LIy9vq62y9TiZ8Bw5Ghg/s1920/CD2CE639-FEC7-4925-B201-F02447BA24BA.jpeg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1920" data-original-width="1080" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj65Zu-RX2LSjGdZBPLGctTbTMgzShh6doI81N7wNYIRSD6X-OABYJBrC2x14Yiui99S3naeUSMT-YL0G5z9wokNS5xeX4zhv8vEq8YhIjyB97xgqz-x69Lwm5d6wfL0dHLGksEYOKAcek1t3G_8YCZhg1zdsrq84lTZSAar6LIy9vq62y9TiZ8Bw5Ghg/s320/CD2CE639-FEC7-4925-B201-F02447BA24BA.jpeg" width="180" /></a></div><p>I have so many patterns that need to be typed up and added to the blog. I just don’t seem to have enough hours (or energy) in the day to get everything done anymore. Prayers are greatly needed and appreciated. To date, my husband is no longer able to pastor our church. This has been a rough transitional time for us. </p><p>If I have made something and you are wanting the specific pattern, please feel free to comment or email me directly at rilla2u@gmail.com and I will get it to you as quickly as I can. </p><p>Life is about constant changes; ups and downs; heading one way and then turning in another direction. I’m still crocheting and crafting. A 5.0mm hook and worsted weight yarn of your color choice. I completed 30 HDC stitches per row for a total of 27 rows. I then used a secondary color to evenly SC in each stitch around. Finally, I used a third color, with a wood skewer, and SC across the top. Last, for the hanger, chain 65 and slip stitch attach to the opposite side and fasten off. Weave ends. To the base row, I added yarn pieces to make fringe.</p><p style="text-align: center;"><b><u><span style="font-size: medium;">Eagles</span></u></b></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgbKwOpSNex4FVFb6TPnKyREN4z_EFJjfLovNL0CSjzbM_FWfX7SItZlP64QjVAJgisTharcNzOtfb-moNkw5YzK-4bFMop7tUa-HfoITOzWwDoa6JgN0J-oitYjr2dWpqLi2SwL407tNUlKD78cnuwXehHwhp79EaWjGTJlL_HGGKQM_Gii3LBObaxhA/s4032/04B76483-029B-41B4-96DF-AD4F33889CD4.jpeg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="4032" data-original-width="3024" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgbKwOpSNex4FVFb6TPnKyREN4z_EFJjfLovNL0CSjzbM_FWfX7SItZlP64QjVAJgisTharcNzOtfb-moNkw5YzK-4bFMop7tUa-HfoITOzWwDoa6JgN0J-oitYjr2dWpqLi2SwL407tNUlKD78cnuwXehHwhp79EaWjGTJlL_HGGKQM_Gii3LBObaxhA/s320/04B76483-029B-41B4-96DF-AD4F33889CD4.jpeg" width="240" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="font-size: medium;"><b><u>Chiefs</u></b></span></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjG9kVC_zKixPaYv6PYly7P7f-KpHbJtf2B4JJKpX4XiQA4GF2sKyM-LIiJZJI2WyD-E_GqIAorPhZwJAptp3-Yalax8h8PEW6B4_CeW4XqI8MqEnWJhLRUf6HXbgviJB6POP5gg_T898mQewXRrq6H6wkQWlFRTAKFeDASQhNX9G5BjLgXTsaYY6Ji5g/s3250/A1A1F2BE-CFA4-473E-8311-D242E1DE80BD.jpeg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="3250" data-original-width="2320" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjG9kVC_zKixPaYv6PYly7P7f-KpHbJtf2B4JJKpX4XiQA4GF2sKyM-LIiJZJI2WyD-E_GqIAorPhZwJAptp3-Yalax8h8PEW6B4_CeW4XqI8MqEnWJhLRUf6HXbgviJB6POP5gg_T898mQewXRrq6H6wkQWlFRTAKFeDASQhNX9G5BjLgXTsaYY6Ji5g/s320/A1A1F2BE-CFA4-473E-8311-D242E1DE80BD.jpeg" width="228" /></a></div><p>I surface crocheted “GO” onto each Wall Hanging. I wanted to see if the filling used made any difference in the depth of the color and drying time. </p><p>I will update this post later with the results I get. </p><p><b><span style="font-size: medium;">For the dye:</span></b></p><p><b><span style="font-size: medium;">(Note: you can buy the Easter Egg dye kit to use)</span></b></p><p>I used 4 of my canning jars in pint size. You can use cups, bowls, whatever you have.</p><p>I boiled water.</p><p>Into each jar, I dropped approximately 18-20 drops of food coloring and 1-1/2 teaspoons of white vinegar. Then, I filled with boiled water about 1/2 way up each jar. </p><p>I used a pair of black plastic tongs from the Dollar Tree to put my eggs in and out of the jars. Plus the tongs are great for squeezing excess liquid back into the jar. This is a very important step; make sure you get as much of the excess liquid out as you can.</p><p>I placed each of my eggs in a cupcake liner. Underneath the liner, I laid out a piece of wax paper - just to be safe!!! </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEipiC3Srtktjdtt8R4wrtoGi27SMmktUBXbFAXc6Yp3VEsE5yytJDjCb6nRJU1GIR5AqGQd3pKJTaouYQXDDkUiC1a8-J9sS0AH1y8xgyNo3exjkxFGFNE6VdqgoUraVLWM-5Hj7202ERlJZ7koZ9tt1CpvBJYfvSGZN9r5hMX9xWEBZwv1eEPewrN2OQ/s4032/EECB3330-2B26-4F7F-94C1-D9CE8AFB0C1C.jpeg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="4032" data-original-width="3024" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEipiC3Srtktjdtt8R4wrtoGi27SMmktUBXbFAXc6Yp3VEsE5yytJDjCb6nRJU1GIR5AqGQd3pKJTaouYQXDDkUiC1a8-J9sS0AH1y8xgyNo3exjkxFGFNE6VdqgoUraVLWM-5Hj7202ERlJZ7koZ9tt1CpvBJYfvSGZN9r5hMX9xWEBZwv1eEPewrN2OQ/s320/EECB3330-2B26-4F7F-94C1-D9CE8AFB0C1C.jpeg" width="240" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiooqvH09E5MorCnnt0IDEtEujwHbQm4MGA0jTt7Si3BoqAg7RaxhVw1dSKHAOKiCPtye7RyiJdu0_lAyJSLl8Ue6A6QCOOZjGYNLNGKnKb5Ct-w3KtCsb9EOropG455KB6WwSzjB7V5V2EgTuPkpcMtgIh_i3aPTaUwU3W5QdpCOybmBIhualWQl_5JQ/s4032/7C43886E-05E1-468C-82A4-56DB52A9FE4C.jpeg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="4032" data-original-width="3024" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiooqvH09E5MorCnnt0IDEtEujwHbQm4MGA0jTt7Si3BoqAg7RaxhVw1dSKHAOKiCPtye7RyiJdu0_lAyJSLl8Ue6A6QCOOZjGYNLNGKnKb5Ct-w3KtCsb9EOropG455KB6WwSzjB7V5V2EgTuPkpcMtgIh_i3aPTaUwU3W5QdpCOybmBIhualWQl_5JQ/s320/7C43886E-05E1-468C-82A4-56DB52A9FE4C.jpeg" width="240" /></a></div><p>Look how gorgeous and vibrant they turned out!!!!!
