Snowflake Ponytail Headband/Ear Warmer

Happy Friday, All!!!  I'm super-excited that my blog is about to hit 100k view mark.  This is so humbling and I truly appreciate and thank each and every one of you who take the time to visit my little corner of the world.

Today, I worked on a video tutorial for my Ponytail Headband/Ear Warmer.  I used Vanna's Choice by Lion Brand in Silver Blue and just thought this color is perfect for snowflakes and a couple snowmen....

Snowflake Ponytail Headband/Ear Warmer

Difficulty Level:  Easy

Materials:
--5.0mm hook
--Vanna's Choice by Lion Brand in Silver Blue (approx 60-70yds)
--ponytail holder
--2 stitch markers
--tapestry needle for weaving
--optional buttons (I used 2 snowmen and several small snowflakes)

U.S. Stitch Abbreviations:
Ch:  chain
Sl st: slip stitch
St:  stitch(es)
SC:  single crochet
HDC:  half double crochet
HDC2tog: half double crochet 2 stitches together
FO:  fasten off

Directions:
1.  Sl st join yarn to ponytail holder and ch1.  24 SC around ponytail holder.  Sl st to first st and ch1.
(24)
2-3.  1 HDC in each st around.  Sl st to join and ch1.  (24)
4.   1 HDC in the first 8 st.  Ch1 and turn.  (8)

Stitch Marker Placement:
Before continuing with Row 5, you will want to place 2 stitch markers on the opposite side of the ponytail holder.  So, from row 4, count over 5 stitches from the 8th st you just made and place stitch marker.  Count over 7 more stitches and place the 2nd stitch marker.

Now, you're ready to continue with making your rows.
5.  2 HDC into the first st, 1 HDC into the next 6 st and 2 HDC in the last st.  Ch1 and turn.  (10)
6.  2 HDC into the first st; 1 HDC into the next 8 st and 2 HDC into the last st.  Ch1 and turn.  (12)
7-44.  1 HDC in each st.  Ch1 and turn.  (12)
45.  HDC2tog; 1 HDC in the next 8 st; HDC2tog.  Ch1 and turn.  (10)
46.  HDC2tog; 1 HDC in the next 6 st; HDC2tog.  Ch1 and turn.  (8)

Now, FO; leaving a long tail to attach Row 46 to Row 3 (the 8 stitches from stitch marker to stitch marker) of the opposite side of the ponytail holder; you can either slip stitch or whipstitch 8 stitches together.

Optional:
Attach buttons using a matching thread.

Here's my updated video tutorial.  It's in 2 parts.  I had to use my cell phone to record; so, my apologies...
