Pumpkin Tissue Box Cover

Cute.  Simple.  Easy.  I love these 3 words when describing a project. And, this project is exactly that!!!!

Pumpkin Tissue Box Cover

I used acrylic yarn in orange, brown and green and a 5.0mm hook. This is basically the same pattern I use for all of my tissue covers.  So just do a search on my blog for tissue box covers.

Scarecrow Bottle

 Scarecrow Bottle

Here’s a quick and easy fall “Scarecrow” I made from an empty bottle.  I just used craft materials I had on hand.

My bottle was blue. So, first, I painted it with one coat of gold acrylic paint. Dry. I then painted it with 2 coats of antique white acrylic paint, drying between each coat.

To give stability to the empty bottle, I added about 3/4 - 1 cup of popcorn kernels. You can, however, add whatever you want to give some weight.

Now, I just freehand painted a face on the bottle. It isn’t perfect. But, I wasn’t going for perfection — just cuteness.

I hot glued a yellow ribbon around the bottom. I hot glued a little raffia to each side, at the top, of the neck of the bottle. I then used a 10” x 10” piece of burlap, folded in half and wrapped sideways around the top and hot glued to secure, covering the raffia. I then glued a fall leaf and acorn to my makeshift hat.

And, that’s it!!!!  Quick, easy….and CUTE!!!!

Easy Fall Bow

 Easy DIY Fall Bow

I made this bow from two rolls of ribbon I purchased from the Dollar Tree - one striped; one solid.

I cut 6 strips from each roll that measures approximately 12” - 14” each.

I folded each strip in half and then layered them on top of each other - striped, then solid.  I then used a zip tie and joined all of them together as close to the end tail as I could without causing any to pull apart.  I then separated each hoop to shape the bow…

That’s it!!!!

Captain America ABC’s

Captain America ABC’s

This was a fun and easy project to implement into my homeschool teaching with my grandson.  He loves Captain America.  Everything came from the Dollar Tree!!!  So, easy, functional and inexpensive project.

Materials:

- 12” wood circle

- 26 clothespins

- acrylic paint in red, white and blue

- paintbrush

- black marker

Directions:

1.  I freehand painted the Captain America symbol onto the wood circle.  I allowed to dry over night.  But, it actually doesn’t take long at all to completely dry.

2.  I then painted 13 clothespins red and 13 blue.  Dry completely.

3.  I evenly added upper case alphabet around the rim of wood with a black marker.  I added the lower case alphabet to the clothespins, alternating between the two colors.

I’m sure with a template, I could’ve gotten an aesthetically more eye-pleasing shield but I hope you get the general idea and find this useful in your crafting and education...

Happy Crafting...

I attached an ornament with a safety pin with the thumb and first finger pinched together.
