Desert Dawn Dishcloth

Desert Dawn Dishcloth

I love how this pooled together to make such a beautiful dishcloth or washcloth.  It was quite easy and worked up quickly.

The pooling design created is just gorgeous if you look closely at it.  I used Crafter’s Secret cotton yarn in “Desert Dawn” from Hobby Lobby.

The finished size is 9” x 9.”

This makes a great gift or item to sale.  So, let’s get started.

Materials:

-4.0 mm hook

-Crafter’s Secret cotton yarn in Desert Dawn

-Tapestry needle for weaving ends

U.S. Stitch Abbreviations:

Ch:  chain

St:  stitch

Sl st:  slip stitch

SC:  single crochet

FSC:  foundation single crochet

FO:  fasten off

Special Stitch:

FSC:  Chain 2.  Take hook through second chain from hook.  Yarn over and pull through.  Yarn over and pull through first loop on hook (this makes your second chain).  Yarn over and pull through both loops on hook (this makes your first SC stitch).  Insert hook into the second chain that you created in previous step and repeat steps. Continue doing this until you have your desired number of stitches.

Special Note:

I slip stitched joined my yarn at the point where a new color started (about a 4-5” tail).

Directions:

1.  FSC 35.  Ch1 and turn. (35)

2.  SC across.  Ch1 and turn.  (35)

Continue Row 2 until your length equals your width, which is 9” x 9.”

FO and weave ends.  I did not add a border.  You can if you desire, but it looks good without one.

Enjoy!!!!
