Crochet Snowman Tissue Box Cover...







Snowman Tissue Box Cover....

Materials:
--#4 worsted weight yarn in black and white
--5mm hook
--Tissue Box, size 4.5"x 5"
--2 black buttons 
--1 medium-sized pompon, orange
--5 small pompons, black
--holly berry garnish flower pick
--tapestry needle

Abbreviations:
Ch= chain
St=  stitch
HHDC=  Herringbone Half Double Crochet

Note:
You can use either the HHDC or the HDC stitch.   

Pattern:
Side:
(This makes all 4 sides in one piece...)
1.  Starting with white yarn, ch 56.  HHDC in 2nd ch from hook and across.  Ch 1.  Turn.  (55)
2.  HHDC in each st across.  Ch 1.  Turn.  (55)
3-10.  Repeat row 2.  At the end of Row 10, switch to black yarn.  (55)
11-13.  Repeat row 2.  

Top:
1.  With black yarn, ch 15.  HHDC in 2nd ch from hook and across.  Ch 1. Turn.  (14)
2-5.  HHDC in each st across.  Ch 1.  Turn.  (14)
6.  HHDC in first 4 st, ch 6, skip 6 st, HHDC in last 4 st.  Ch 1.  Turn.  (8 st & 6 ch)
7.  HHDC in first 4 st, 6 HHDC st in ch st, HHDC in last 4 st.  Ch 1.  Turn.  (14)
8-12.  HHDC in each st across.  Leave a long tail for attaching.  (14)

Assembly:
Attach the long piece around the side of the tissue box and weave ends together.  Place the top on and  attach each side to the side piece.  Weave ends.  Use craft glue to attach the eyes, nose, mouth and garnish.
