I whipped up this cute, "Girlie Baby Bib," this morning using Crafter's Secret Cotton yarn for my little niece, Kaeleigh. She is expected to arrive in a few short weeks.
Updated note:
This is sized more for a newborn. If you want to make this for an older baby, then go up on your hook size.
Size: Approximately 6 1/2" wide x 11" long (newborn)
Materials:
--5.0mm hook for bib
--3.5mm hook for border
--Crafter's Secret Cotton Yarn in Pinkalicious (for the bib portion) and Fuchsia (for the border)
--1 (1/2") button
--tapestry needle for weaving
U.S. Stitch Abbreviations:
Ch: chain
Sl st: slip stitch
SC: single crochet
SC2tog: single crochet 2 stitches together (creates a decrease)
FO: fasten off
Special Stitch (for border):
1. Picot Stitch - Ch3 and then slip stitch into the first chain.
Directions:
1. With 5.0mm hook and Pinkalicious yarn, Ch16. SC in 2nd ch from hook and across. Ch1 and turn. (15)
2. 2 SC in first st, 1 SC in next 13 st, 2 SC in last st. Ch1 and turn. (17)

39. 1 SC in first 2 st, 1 SC in the Ch2 space and 1 SC in each of the last 2 st. FO and weave ends. (5)
Repeat #22-39 on the opposite side. For 38-39, SC in each st across.
Attach button on opposite side of buttonhole.
Border:
1. With Fuchsia yarn and 3.5mm hook, join yarn in the top left corner. SC in each st around entire bib. I placed 3 SC stitches in each corner. Sl st join to first st.
2. *Ch3, sl st into the first ch. Sl st into the next 3 st.* Repeat from * to * around the outer portion of the bib. Sl st join to first st and FO. Weave ends.
This "Girlie Baby Bib" is super cute in Pinkalicious and Fuchsia. I'm not sure if the above picture accurately depicts how pretty this actually is. It's quick, easy and makes for a great gift. I hope you all will enjoy making this project.
