Raspberry Ponytail Headband

Raspberry Ponytail Headband

I made this headband super quick using, “I Love This Yarn,” from Hobby Lobby, in the color, “Green/Turquoise/Red.”

Size: fit most teen/adult-sized heads

Materials:

-5.0mm hook

-#4 worsted weight yarn

-tapestry needle for weaving

U.S. Stitch Abbreviations:

Ch:  chain

St:  stitch

Sl st:  slip stitch

SC:  single crochet 

HDC:  half double crochet 

DC:  double crochet 

BLO:  back loops only

SC2tog: single crochet 2 stitches together (decrease)

Sk:  skip

Rep:  repeat

FO:  fasten off

Directions:

(The headband is worked from front to back.)

Band:

1.  Ch10.  HDC in 2nd ch from hook and across. Ch1 and turn.  (9)

2.  Working in BLO, HDC in each st across.  Ch1 and turn.  (9)

3-38.  Repeat #2.  (9)

(You can make the band portion smaller or longer; depending on size of head.)

39.  Join the ends together with Sl st.  (9)

Body:

1.  SC in each st around.  Sl st join and Ch1.  (38)

2.  *2SC, 1SC,* rep around.  Sl st join and ch1.  (57)

3.  *SC, DC, SC in the same st.  Sk 2 st.* rep from * to * around.  Sl st join and ch1.  (19 clusters)

4-8.  Rep #3.  

9.  SC in each st around.  Sl st join and ch1.  (57)

10.  *SC2tog, SC* rep from * to * around.  Sl st join and FO.  Weave ends.  (38)

And, that’s it!!!!!
