Candy Cane Hat

 Candy Cane Hat

I made this new hat design a few weeks ago while I was at the beach.  It reminded me so much of a candy cane with the red and white twist design.

I used a 5.0mm hook and #4 worsted weight yarn to complete. I think it looks good with or without a faux fur pom.

This hat does take a little time and focus to make but isn’t too hard to complete.

Once you have your desired diameter, then the fun with alternating chain stitches between red and white happens.

Once you make the first 5 chains with white, you skip a stitch and slip stitch into the next stitch.  Pull up a loop, remove hook and join red yarn in the skipped stitch and chain 5.  Now, you will skip over the next st and slip stitch into the following stitch.  Pull up a loop, remove hook and join back to the white yarn and repeat process again. Continue to repeat around.

Here’s my Candy Cane and Jolly Hats!!!!  I love how both of these hats turned out.

 Happy Crocheting...

Seasonal Table Decor

Seasonal Table Decor

With Thanksgiving quickly approaching and the Christmas season soon to begin, I completed 2 quick, easy, cheap and adorable DIYs today!!!!

The accessories were all purchased from the Dollar Tree, Hobby Lobby (60-70%off) and Michael’s (70% off).

For the Fall decor, I used a Styrofoam pumpkin from the Dollar Tree, cut out the center about 2-3” deep, placed a small piece of floral foam and added fall florals.  Quick and easy.

Here is the YouTube link for the tutorial:

For the Christmas scene in the jar, I used (1) bag of white sand (from the Dollar Tree) that I had on hand. I added a reindeer, Christmas tree, Christmas picks (placed in a small piece of floral foam), little presents, red wood truck, two poinsettia’s and a snowman inside  You can basically add whatever you have (or like) to any sized jar.  It also looks great with LED lights but I didn’t have any on hand.

Support Small Businesses…

November 5, 2022

Hi Everyone!!!!

Going into November and the remainder of the year is a busy time for most of us.  Juggling family, cooking, working, parties, gift-giving, decorating, trying to do all the traditional (and expected) holiday events and the list goes on and doesn’t seem to stop.

I would like to encourage you to shop local; shop small business.  Your order may just be one to you but it means a lot to the seller.  A small business owner puts a lot of time, heart and love into every item they make and sale.

This season - be an encourager, a supporter, a repeat customer; when you support a small business, you’re supporting a family, not shareholders, not greedy investors but your friends, family and next-door neighbors,

My Etsy shop has a wide assortment of crocheted items to homemade candles, soaps, shampoo bars, bath bombs and so on….

Check out my shop today and become a supporter of my family…
