Bee Kind...

 Bee Kind Craft Project...

I absolutely love how this project turned out.  Simple Dollar Tree finds making gorgeous home decor...

Materials:

—2 small wooden crates

—12 jumbo popsicle sticks

—black and white paint

—paintbrush

—hot glue gun

—twine

—accessories for decorating (flowers, Moss, lettering, bee buttons, etc)

Directions:

1.  With black paint, paint all of your wood pieces.  I learned this the hard way.  I decided to glue first and then paint.  Believe me, you want to paint first.

2.  Once the black paint was dried, I then used an old rag to lightly rub white into the wood to give it an aged look.  You will only want to use a little white paint at a time.  Be careful on this part and not get any splinters in your fingers.  I learned this the hard way as well by using 2 paper towels waded together.

3.  Now everything is dry and you are ready to glue your pieces together.  I turned the crates over, both open ends facing up.  I hot glued the popsicle sticks to the back.  6 sticks fits perfectly, vertically.  I then took 2 sticks, trimmed about 2” off each one and hot glued them horizontally- one across the top; one across the bottom.

For the sides, I glued 2 sticks on each end of the sides.

  4.  Last, I hot glued twine to the center.  This is optional.  The shelf will stand on its own or you can hang it up.

And that’s it for putting this super cute shelf together.

For decorating, that’s entirely up to you. I just used simple items I had around the house.

  • I added moss into both crates and placed flowers.
  • I folded and wrapped twine in the center to look like a little bow and glued to the top corner.
  • I used sticky lettering for:  BEE KIND.
  • I had 4 bumblebee buttons leftover from a previous project that I glued on.
  • I pulled the sunflower off a felt pumpkin flag I had and glued it on the bottom shelf center.

Here’s a few more pictures I wanted to share….

Happy Crafting...
