Magenta Loungewear Set

 Magenta Loungewear Set

I made this Loungewear Set using Lion Brand’s Coboo in the color “Magenta.”  This was a customized, request order.  I used a combination of SC, HDC, DC and post stitches.

Materials:
--4.0mm hook (for Top)
--4.5mm hook (for Shorts)
--1000 yds of Lion Brand's Coboo #3 yarn in Magenta (5 skeins; 232yds/skein)
--Stitch markers
--Tapestry needle

U.S. Stitch Abbreviations:
Ch:  chain
St:  stitch
Sl st:  slip stitch
SC:  single crochet
DC:  double crochet
HDC:  half double crochet
FPDC:  front post double crochet
BPDC:  back post double crochet
HDC2tog:  half double crochet 2 stitches together (creating a decrease)
Rep:  repeat
FO:  fasten off

Size:
This was customized to fit the following measurements -
--29" around chest (boobs)
--40" waist
--45" hips

Gauge:  Very important for this project, especially if you are wanting to altar to fit your measurements
Top:  18 SC = 4"
Shorts:  12 DC = 3"

Directions:

Note:  I worked in the round and used a stitch marker.  If so desired, you can slip stitch join to the first stitch and ch1.

Top:
1.  With 4.0mm hook, Ch180.  Sl st join to first Ch.  SC in each ch around.  (180)
2-35.  SC around.  (180)
36.  DC around.  (180)
37.  2 DC in first st, 1 DC in next st.  Rep around.  (270)

Straps (make 2):
I laid the piece flat down and came inward 5" on each side and placed a stitch marker.  I counted over two stitches and placed the second stitch marker for each side.  I did this for the front side and the back side to make sure the straps lined up perfectly and were correctly placed.

1.  Leave a long tail at the start.  Ch4.  SC in 2nd ch from hook and remaining 2.  (I did not use a turning ch for the straps.)  (3)
2-79.  SC across.  (3)
80.  SC across.  FO and leave a long tail for attaching.

Make your second strap.  Then attach your straps securely with a tapestry needle to the identified marks you have already placed on the Top.  Secure and weave ends.

Shorts:

1.  With 4.5mm hook, Ch160.  Sl st join to first ch.  Ch3 (counts as first DC).  DC around.  Sl st join to the top of Ch3.  (160)

2-3.  Ch3 (counts as FPDC), *BPDC around next post, then FPDC,* rep from * to * around.  Sl st join to the top of Ch3.  (160)

4.  Ch3 (counts as first DC).  DC around.  Sl st join to top of ch3.  (160)

5-7.  Rep #4.  (160)

8.  Ch2 (doesn't count as a stitch).  *HDC next 5 st, 2 HDC* rep from * to * until last 3 st.  HDC in each of the last 3 st.  Sl st join to first st and Ch2.  (185)

9.  HDC in each st around.  Sl st join to first st and Ch2.  (185)

10-27.  Rep #9.  (185)

28.  HDC2tog, HDC around.  Sl st join to first st and Ch2.  (184)

First Leg:

29.  HDC in 92 st.  Sl st join to first st and Ch2.  (92)

30-38.  HDC in each st around.  Sl st join to first st and Ch2.  (92)

39.  3HDC in each st around.  Sl st join to first st and FO.  Weave ends.  (276)

Repeat steps 29-39 for the Second Leg.

Strap:

1.  Ch251.  5 SC in 2nd ch from hook, SC across, 5 SC in the last ch.  FO and leave a long tail.

Attaching:

Using your tapestry needle, with the tail, gently, weave the strap in and out of Round 2.  Make sure once you have completed this, that your strap is even on each side.  Weave the tail and FO.

And, that's it for this project.  If you gauge correctly, then you can easily adjust to fit to your size accordingly.

I hope you all enjoy this one ....

Happy Crocheting...
