John Deere Tractor Storage Basket...

Well, I finally got around to finishing up this John Deere Tractor Storage Basket.  I used Red Heart Super Saver yarn, double-stranded and a 6.5mm hook.

This project didn't take long to actually make I just got side-tracked on other projects before completing this one.

(I'm not sure what this piece is called)
This piece is worked in the round; so use a stitch marker to keep track of your first stitch of each round, move stitch marker up as you start new rounds.
1.  With black yarn and 5.0mm hook, 6 SC into MR. (6)
2-12.  1 SC in each st around.  At the end of Round 12, FO and leave a long enough tail for attaching.  (6)

Assembly:
1.  First attach the back piece to the short ends of each side piece.  Then, with double-stranded yarn and 6.5mm hook, work 2 rows of HDC across the top back piece.  FO and leave a tail to turn the 2 rows inside and whipstitch to the sides.  Weave ends.
2.  Attach the front piece to the opposite end of the side pieces.  Then you will attach the front top piece, the front back piece and the front bottom piece.  Before closing off the last piece you will want to stuff with polyfil.  Weave ends.
3.  Turn upside down and attach the back bottom piece across the side pieces.  Weave ends.
4.  Attach headlights to the front, before closing off, stuff with polyfil.
5.  Attach the yellow stripes - one on each front side.  Weave ends.  (see pic)
6.  For the wheels, the 2 smaller wheels - 1 on each side of the front of the tractor.  Attach and weave ends.  The 2 larger wheels - 1 on each side of the back of the tractor.  Attach and weave ends.
7.  Attach the fluke-pipe to the front top.  Weave ends.

And that's it for your John Deere Tractor Storage Basket!!!  Someone commented on my Instagram account that this would make a great photo prop to sit a baby in (of course you couldn't sit a newborn), but a baby that's starting to sit up would look super cute in a photo.

If you have any questions or problems with this, please feel free to message me and I will help you as much as I can.

I hope you enjoy this pattern.

Happy Crocheting
