Owl Ponytail Headband/Ear Warmer...
Here's a variation from my Basic Ponytail Earwarmer/Headband - it's the Owl Ponytail Headband/Ear Warmer...
Materials:
--4.0mm (for the eyes and nose) and 5.0mm (for the Earwarmer/Headband) hooks
--Vanna's Choice yarns in Peacock, Aquamarine, Dusty Purple, Terra Cotta, White and Black
--ponytail holder
--tapestry needle for weaving
Stitch Abbreviations:
Ch: chain
HDC: half double crochet
SC: single crochet
MR: magic ring
Directions:
1. Follow the above link for the directions for making the Earwarmer/Headband. (I used Peacock Yarn for this part.)
Eyes (make 2):
(4.0mm hook)
1. With black yarn, 8 HDC into MR. Slip stitch to join. Fasten off black yarn and join Aquamarine. Ch1. (8)
2. In Aquamarine, 2 HDC into each stitch around. Slip stitch join. Fasten off Aquamarine and join Dusty Purple. Ch1. (16)
3. With Dusty Purple, 2 HDC in first stitch, 1 HDC in next stitch. Repeat around. Slip stitch join. Fasten off Dusty Purple and join white yarn. Ch1. (24)
4. With white yarn, 1 HDC in each stitch around. Fasten off, leaving a long tail for attaching. (24)
Nose:
(4.0mm hook)
1. With Terra Cotta yarn, chain 2. 1 SC in 2nd chain from hook. Ch1 and turn. (1)
2. 2 SC in st. Ch1 and turn. (2)
3. 2 SC in first stitch, 1 SC in next stitch. Ch1 and turn. (3)
4. 1 SC in each stitch across. Ch1 and turn. (3)
5. 2 SC in first stitch, 1 SC in next and 2 SC in last stitch. Ch1 and turn. (5)
6. 1 SC in each stitch across. Fasten off, leaving a long tail for attaching. (5)
Ears (make 2):
I joined 4 of the yarn colors together and made tassel ears by weaving yarn through a stitch and tying a double knot.
