Fall Mini-Bags - Soap Savers, Treat Bags!!!

On this Sunday, instead of completing a few ongoing projects I have in the works, I decided to work on these cute little bags...lol.  

Fall mini bags using 100% cotton yarn and a 4.0mm hook.  You can use these as soap savers (in the bath/shower or kitchen), candy/treat bags (for kids, teachers, co-workers) or as a gift bag.  A pumpkin, ghost and Frankenstein - each used a small amount of yarn and were quick to work up.

The bags measures approximately 3" x 5".  You can easily adjust the pattern to make bigger.

Fall Mini-Bags/Soap Savers
Fall Mini-Bags/Soap Savers Pattern 
Difficulty Level:  Easy

Size:  approximately 3" x 5"

Materials:
--4mm hook
--Cotton yarn - orange, black, white and green 
--tapestry needle

U.S. Stitch Abbreviations:
Ch:  chain
Sl st:  slip stitch
St:  stitch(es)
SC:  single crochet 
SC2tog:  single crochet 2 stitches together 
HDC:  half double crochet 
MR:  magic ring 
FO:  fasten off

Directions:
1.  Ch6.  HDC in 2nd ch from hook.  HDC in next 3 ch.  3 HDC in last st.  Rotate.  HDC in next 3 ch and 2 HDC in last ch.  Sl st join to first st and Ch1.  (12)
2.  HHDC in the first 5 st, 3 HDC in the next st, HDC in the next 5 st and 2 HDC in the last st.  Sl st join and Ch1.  (15)
3.  HDC in the first 6 st, 3 HDC in the next st, HDC in the next 7 st and 2 HDC in the last st.  Sl st join and Ch1.  (18)
4-13.  1 HDC in each st around.  Sl st join and Ch1.  (18)
14.  HDC in first st.  *Ch2, skip 2.  HDC in next st.* repeat around.  FO and weave ends.  

For strap:
1.  Ch65.  SC in 2nd ch and across.  FO and weave ends.  

Weave strap in and out of last row of the bag and tie.  

For facial features:
1.  I used black yarn and made triangle-shaped eyes for the pumpkin and ghost and circular eyes for Frankenstein.  The nose for the pumpkin and Frankenstein are triangle-shaped. 

Triangle:
1.  Ch4.  SC in 2nd ch and next 2 ch.  Ch1 and turn.  (3)
2.  SC across.  Ch1 and turn.  (3)
3.  SC2tog, SC.  Ch1 and turn.  (2)
4.  SC2tog.  FO and leave tail for attaching.  (1) 

Circular:
1.  6 SC into MR.  Sl st join and FO.  Leave tail for attaching.  (6) 

Mouth:
1.  With black yarn, I just made chains and then SC in 2nd ch from hook and across.  FO and leave a long enough tail for attaching.  Make as long or as short as you like.  All 3 of mine are different sizes.  

Hair for Frankenstein:
I made the same way as the mouth.  

And, that's it for these little bags.  Use as soap savers, treat bags or mini/gift bags...
