Cozy/Table Scarf Pattern
Difficulty Level: Easy
Materials:
--5mm hook
--Cotton yarn (approx 110 yds total) - I used Crafter's Secret in Buttercup and Brown Multi; and for the flower I used "I Love This Yarn" in Buttercup
--ponytail holder
--tapestry needle for weaving
Stitch Abbreviations:
Ch: chain
Sl st: slip stitch
St: stitch(es)
SC: single crochet
HDC: half double crochet
MR: magic ring
FO: fasten off
For the Flower:
Puff Stitch - 3 double crochet into same st (yarn over, insert hook into stitch, yarn over, and draw back through the stitch, yarn over and draw through 2 loops on stitch. Into the same stitch, repeat 2 more times. Then, yarn over and draw the yarn through all 4 loops on hook.
Directions:
1. With Buttercup yarn, sl st and ch1 to ponytail holder. Make 30 HDC around ponytail holder. Sl st to join to first st and ch1. (30)
2. 2 HDC in each st around. Sl st to join and ch1. (60)
3. 2 HDC in first st; 1 HDC in next st. Repeat around. Sl st to join and ch1. (90)
4. 2 HDC in first st; 1 HDC in next 2 st. Repeat around. Sl st to join and ch1. (120)
5-6. 1 HDC in each st around. Sl st to join and ch1. At the end of row 6, FO and weave ends. (120)
7. Join Brown Multi yarn and ch1. Into first st, SC and HDC. *Sk next st. SC and HDC in next st.* Repeat from * to * around. Sl st to join and ch1. (60 SC & 60 HDC)
8-10. SC and HDC in first st, sk next st. Repeat around. At the end of round 10, FO. Weave ends. (60 SC & 60 HDC)
Flower (optional):
1. With "I Love This Yarn's" Buttercup, 8 HDC into MR. Pull to tighten; sl st to join and ch1.
2. Make a puff stitch into each st around. Sl st to join; FO and weave ends. (8 puff stitches)
Lots of uses for this simple cozy/table scarf.
