Owl Gift Card Holder
Owl Gift Card Holder Pattern
Difficulty Level: Easy
Materials:
--4.0 mm hook
--#4 worsted weight yarn in brown tweed, light beige, yellow and turquoise (total 25-30 yards)
--4 buttons (2 yellow - 3/4"; 2 turquoise - 1/4")
--tapestry needle for weaving
Abbreviations:
Ch: chain
St: stitch(es)
SC: single crochet
FO: fasten off
Directions:
Front:
1. With brown tweed, ch13. SC in 2nd ch from hook and across. Ch1 and turn. (12)
2. SC in each st across. Ch1 and turn. (12)
3-6. Repeat #2. At the end of Row 6, before completing last st, FO brown tweed and join light beige yarn. Ch1 and turn. (12)
7-10. In light beige, SC in each st across. Ch1 and turn. At the end of Row 10, FO light beige yarn and re-join brown tweed. (12)
11-13. With brown tweed, SC in each st across. Ch1 and turn. At the end of Row 13, FO and leave a long tail. (12)
Back:
1. With brown tweed, ch13. SC in 2nd ch from hook and across. Ch1 and turn. (12)
2-13. SC in each st across. Ch1 and turn. At the end of Row 13, FO. (12)
Nose:
1. With yellow yarn, ch2. 1 SC in 2nd ch from hook. Ch1 and turn. (1)
2. 2 SC in st. Ch1 and turn. (2)
3. 2 SC in first st and 1 SC in next st. Ch1 and turn. (3)
4. SC evenly around nose. FO, leaving a long tail to attach to the front cover, center, at rows 7-10.
Buttons: see pic for placement
Ears: I made tassel ears. I used yellow, light beige and turquoise yarn. I used my hook and weaved the yarn into stitch 1 and then tied in a double knot and trimmed off excess. I then repeated on opposite side at stitch 12.
I completed facial features and ears before whipstitching the front and back together, on each side and across the bottom. Now, all you need is a gift card and you're set to go....
